But if I with the finger of God cast out
devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. When a
strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome
him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and
divideth his spoils. He that is not with me is against me: and
he that gathereth not with me scattereth. (Luke 11:20,
23)
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through
thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For
I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
(Psalms 44:5, 6)
"...arms discourage and keep the invader
and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as
property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding
deprived of the use of them." Thoughts On Defensive War, Thomas
Paine (1775)
A man has the right to defend his family, the
weak and himself but he does not have the right to wage an
awarranted war.
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what
shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man,
neither accuse [any] falsely; and be content with your
wages. (Lu 3:14)
